Fabulous Fall Foundations
Fall is officially here! However, Summer seems to still be clinging to its last few weeks of life (on the East Coast, at least!). So how does one choose which type of foundation to use while in the midst of this transition? Have no fear! Here are a few foundation recommendations for the transition from hot, humid Summer into the cooler, dryer Fall weather.
During the Summer, the higher humidity levels provide skin with more natural moisture. As we transition into Fall, the air cools, humidity levels drop, and our skin can sometimes become dryer due to less moisture in the air. During the transition between Summer and Fall, our skin struggles to adapt to the changes between hot days and cooler evenings. Exfoliation is necessary to combat dry patches of skin, and moisturizing becomes even more important in order to have a smooth base for makeup application. The key is to find a foundation that provides moisture and hydration to prevent skin from over drying and creating flaking makeup.

This foundation is amazing for that in-between period of Summer and Fall. While it is a full coverage foundation and is perfectly buildable. This foundation includes collagen (which promotes firmer, younger looking skin), hyaluronic acid (which increases moisture and plumps skin), niacin (which increases skin elasticity and promotes even skin tone), peptides (which help to smooth skin and wrinkles) and antioxidants (which reduce the appearance of aging and damage). Without having to use much, users can illuminate, diffuse, color correct, and hydrate to kiss dry, dull Fall skin goodbye!

Urban Decay Cosmetics Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation
This foundation is a new find for me, and t has been tested repeatedly in the last few weeks! This foundation also comes in 12 shades, ranging from Ultra Fair-neutral to Ultra-Deep neutral. It blends and builds out beautifully, providing a medium coverage for up to 12 hours (yes, this has been tested!). Urban Decay boasts that it leaves skin 30% more hydrated, with the use of Kombucha Filtrate (which is rich in antioxidants, and it brightens, detoxifies, and increases luminosity) and Marula Oil (which seals in hydration). The only thing it’s missing is the SPF—while those rays seem weak during the Fall, they can still cause damage to the skin and SPF should still be applied prior to application of this foundation.

Remember, exfoliate, moisturize, and be sure to use SPF before you apply foundation even if it isn’t very sunny outside. Let us know what’s in your Fall foundation collection!
